This year, we thought it would be fun to celebrate the season
with a visit to our local indoor ice skating rink, The Outpost,
located just up the road from our house. Being the
Midwesterners, born and bred, that we are, we laced up our
rental skates and had a great time, gilding effortlessly (ok,
maybe we weren't quite that graceful) around the
impressive 1/5 mile 'CoolLoop.' However, in planning this
little gathering we failed to anticipate that, well, residents
of New Mexico just aren't that into ice skating. A big,
hearty thanks goes out to Eric, Erica, Julia and Jeremy for
being brave and fun-loving enough to join us at the rink!
Once back at the house, we were joined by numerous other
friends, festively dressed for the season. There, the
merrymaking continued in a (slightly) less slippery and
dangerous form, aided by Scott's delicious and well-received
green chile chicken stew, a big pot of hot chocolate, a log in
the fireplace and lots (and lots) of wine - just our kind of
holiday!

Look out, Scott looks ready to race

Green chile chicken stew, anyone?
"I'll have a glass of that...or maybe the whole bottle!"
