No matter where we
happen to be,
Fall is always a favorite time of year for us. New Mexico
is especially beautiful during this season and, like last year,
we were committed to taking advantage of the wonderful scenery
and weather that is autumn in New Mexico. This year we got
a slow start, as we both succumbed to lengthy upper respiratory
illnesses following our flight home from cousin Amelia's wedding
in September. However, we still managed to enjoy a few
regional scenery destinations in our current home state during
the month of October. Specifically, we visited 4th of July
Canyon, the Very Large Array (VLA) & El Malpais National
Monument (with a stop - for pie - in Pie Town, NM) and Cimarron
Canyon State Park & the Enchanted Circle near Taos (including an
overnight stay in Taos). And last but not least, over
Halloween weekend, Scott's parents came for a visit, giving us
the opportunity to show them 3 seasons of New Mexico weather in
a single long weekend (although just the beautiful fall sunshine
would have sufficed)!
