We've been on the move since our last entry. After finding
our rental house and finding out we couldn't move in until April
1st, we decided to spend a couple of weeks in Puerto Vallarta
relaxing. A bit of lounging along with enjoying some
building septic repairs (reached
through our bathroom floor - but at least we weren't the ones
with a giant waterfall in our bedroom!), then it was back to NM
to start our move-in.
Our 'stuff', or what was left of
it after our San Francisco garage sale blow-out of 2004, was
still in Riverside. So we got to make full use of our
spacious van (along with the U-haul trailer we dragged behind
it) to head to California and fill our lives with normal-people
things again. The move went smoothly, we're in the house,
and we think it'll be great. Prior to leaving for
Riverside, we even had time to take a road trip to visit the NM
mountain town of Ruidoso and the beguiling White Sands National
Monument - which is full of white sand (cooler than it sounds -
we'll post some photos). The rest of our time has been
filled with unpacking (mostly our kitchen stuff) and shopping.
Bought ourselves dining chairs, a sofa, loveseat, couple of
tables, ottoman, barstools, even 2 flat panel LCD TVs (one for a
use as a computer monitor). The credit card bill next
month should be frightening.
